The 2002 production marked a significant change in personnel and parts. After ten or so years at the helm, Hilary decoded that she no longer wanted to be the producer. With no-one else to take the reigns, Stephen stepped in and agreed to produce for the year. Stephen brought a largely unknown pantomime called "The White Cat" which he wanted to produce. Although unknown, it contained all the traditional pantomime elements, had a very nice story and a number of opportunities to try out something different.
First difference was to cast Sue as the villainess. Sue was more used to being hte principle boy but jumped at the chance of being booed and hissed at. This meant Kate took over as Prince Peerless and filled the boots admirably. Hilary didn't get away lightly, being cast as the king, father of three princes whose search for The Golden Net takes them on many adventures.
The pantomime also allowed fro an ultraviolet scene, one of the reasons that it was chosen. This would be the second time we had attempted this and it came off extremely well. Unlike Sleeping beauty, the use of digital camera stills allowed the capture of pictures from this scene. As can be seen by the picture of Vikki when she appeared in her Whice Cat disguise. Unfortunately the image cannot get accross just how stunning the effect was for real.
The photographs here are all taken from Act 2 of the pantomime; for more photographs of act 2 and a more informal chat about the proceedings then head over to www.GODBLUFF.com. The personal website of the webmaster of this site.
Unfortunately this pantomime marks the end of the regular updates to this site since the webmaster is no longer involved with the group. The performances still continue although there is no official (or unofficial) website anymore.
