Written
by Paul Reakes, this was our last production and tells the tale of Robin Hood's victory over the grasping Sheriff of Nottingham. Ably assisted by his merry men, he also find's time to save the Sheriff's nieces and win the hand of the fair Maid Marian.
Martin and Catherine, as the Sheriff's two dim guards provided one of the high points. They worked a very funny spoof of the rather popular TV show called Who Want's to be a One Pounder. Full of local references and, of course, audience participation, it went down rather well.
The Costumes were particularly striking this year, The Merry Men especially. Sally's forest backdrop, which can just be seen behind the merry men photograph was actually based on a painting by one of her family members; and rather nice it looked too.
Originally intended as a sort of jig for the beginning of the second act, a rather nice version of The Morpeth Rant was recorded by crack mandolin/mandola/guitar player Paul Haley. It was eventually used as intro and exit music.
If you hold the mouse over the large version of the members of the cast and crew photograph, names will be put to faces. This is something that I would like to do with more of the photographs, especially is I get hole of cast/finale pictures. Unfortunately, creating image maps is a long process...
