Probably one of our better efforts in recent times, the show was extremely well received and we have had nothing but positive comments back from those who came along. It must have been a combination of a very good script, the usual bucket loads of effort from everyone and all out terror. It is not unusual for the rehearsals before a show to not go well, but the three that we had in the last week were dreadful. A wake up call!

One nice thing this year was that some of the traditional actors were given the opportunity to play different roles. Ken didn't have to struggle into three different dame costumes while Stephen, looking like he ought to be in 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show', didn't incur the audience wrath since he was playing the good Hairy Godmother.

Deborah was playing the principle girl for the first time for years and was very convincing in both her civvy clothes and beautiful ball gown. Sue T and Sue G also worked very well together as the Prince and Dandini while Martin and Catherine continued to show just what a good pairing they are as the ugly sister. Ken and June as Baron and Baroness Hardup provided their vision of domestic bliss, Ken, in particular with a strong version of 'If I Were A Rich Man'.

Throw in the Chorus, a footman and a lost pantomime cow and the on-stage cast was almost complete. Stage manager Sally and her assistant, Rod put in occasional appearances as weather provider and drum roll respectively.

Not forgetting our usual high standard of costumes coordinated by Corinne with Frits, a permanent fixture on lights and Carole finding out how easy the sound can be.

Overall, a very enjoyable and professional outing for which everyone, particularly Hilary as producer, can be proud of.

Hope that you like the pictures, once the video is made available, I'll have a chat with Harry about putting clips up.
